- 2 sticks of butter
- 3 cups of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of lemon extract
- 1 teaspoon of almond extract
- 6 eggs, separated
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon of butter flavoring
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 cup of buttermilk

Mix butter and sugar at medium speed.

Add the egg yolks one at a time, mixing after adding each egg.

Add the flavorings.

Sift the flour, salt and baking soda together.

Add the dry ingredients to the butter and egg mixture alternating with buttermilk beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry and fold into the mixture.

Pour into a greased and floured 10-inch tube pan.

Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

Allow to cool for 15 minutes before removing from pan.
