Rich Strawberry Short Cake

  • 2 cup flour
  • 0.3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • Few grains
  • nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 4 teaspoons baking
  • powder

Instructions

    Sift together the dry ingredients.

    Cut in the butter until mixture is like coarse crumbs.

    Combine egg, cream and orange zest.

  4. 4

    Add egg mixture to dry mixture, stirring only to moisten.

  5. 5

    Split shortcakes in half.

  6. 6

    Place bottom half in a bowl.

    Spoon strawberries and juice over shortcake half.

  8. 8

    Top with shortcake top.

  9. 9

    Spoon more strawberries and juice over shortbread.
