Kettle Corn
Sweet and salty homemade kettle corn made in a skillet — crispy, caramelized, and totally addictive.
Ingredients
- 0.7 cup raw popcorn kernels
- 0.3 cup oil
- 0.3 cup sugar
- 0.3 tsp salt, to taste
Instructions
- 1
Place oil and popcorn in a large skillet with a tight fitting lid. Kernels should barely cover the bottom surface.
- 2
Heat over medium until the first kernel starts to pop. Quickly stir in the sugar until dissolved.
- 3
Cover and continuously shake the skillet while holding the top — this burns faster than regular popcorn.
- 4
When popping stops, remove from heat. Spoon into a bowl while shaking occasionally to let unpopped kernels settle.
- 5
Salt lightly and break up into pieces. Note: may take a little practice.
