Boiled Cake

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in a little warm water
  • 1 cup lard (I use vegetable oil.)
  • 3 cups water

Instructions

    Cook sugars, salt, spices, lard, water, and raisins for 7 minutes.

    Add flour, and soda.

  3. 3

    Bake.
