- 1 1/2 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 3 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 6 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 tablespoons evaporated milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Mix 1 1/2 cups of the confectioners sugar, the butter, egg, vanilla, almond extract, flour, baking soda, and the cream of tartar.

Roll into 3/4 -inch balls.

Place the balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet and press down the center.

Bake at 350 degrees for 3 minutes

and then press the centers down again and bake for an additional 5 minutes.

Place the cookies on a rack to cool.

Combine the frosting ingredients and mix until smooth.

Fill the centers of the cookies with the frosting.
