Creole Tartar Sauce

A tangy homemade Creole tartar sauce with capers, cornichons, and Creole mustard - perfect with fried seafood.

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Creole mustard
  • 2 tbsp minced cornichons
  • 2 tbsp minced capers
  • 1 tbsp minced shallots
  • 1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 0 to taste salt and freshly ground white pepper

Instructions

    Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

    Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, white pepper and hot sauce.

    Cover and refrigerate at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld. Keeps refrigerated for up to 1 week.
