CINNAMON SWIRL BREAD
A bread recipe for CINNAMON SWIRL BREAD.
Ingredients
- 1 pk Active dry yeast
- 1/4 c Shortening
- 1/2 c Warm water
- 2 c Scalded milk, cooled
- 1/3 c Sugar
- 2 ts Salt
- 6 1/4 c Sifted flour
- 1/2 c Sugar
- 1 tb Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 ts Water

Softens yeast in water.

Combines milk, sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm.

Stirs in 2 cups flour. Beats well. Adds yeast, mixes. Adds enough flour to make moderately stiff dough.

Turns out onto floured work surface, kneads 8-10 minutes until smooth and satiny.

Shapes into ball, places in greased bowl, turns once to grease top. Covers, lets rise until doubled in bulk, 1 1/4 hours.

Punches down.

Cuts dough into 2 portions, rolls dough to two 15x7 inch rectangles.

Combines 1/2 sugar, cinnamon, spreads half over each bread.

Rolls into loaves. Places in greased and floured 9x5x3 inch loaf pans.

Covers and lets rise until doubled in bulk (60 minutes).

Bakes in preheated 375 F oven for 30 minutes
