  • 6 eggs whites
  • 2 quart brick of ice cream
  • 6 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Thin sheet sponge cake

Instructions

    Make meringue of eggs and sugar as in Meringue I

    Cover a board with white paper, lay on sponge cake

  3. 3

    Turn ice cream on cake (which should extend one-half inch beyond cream)

  4. 4

    Cover with meringue and spread smoothly

  5. 5

    Place on oven grate and brown quickly in hot oven

  6. 6

    The board, paper, cake, and meringue are poor conductors of heat, and prevent the cream from melting

  7. 7

    Slip from paper on ice cream platter
