Crockpot apple butter #4

  • 12 to 14 apples
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • sugar
  • cinnamon
  • all spice
  • cloves
  • 1 cup sugar for each pint of apples
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon for each pint of apples
  • 1/2 tsp allspice for each pint of apples
  • 1/8 tsp cloves for each pint of apples

Instructions

    Wash, core, and quarter apples (do not peel)

    Combine apples and juice in lightly oiled crock pot

  3. 3

    Cover and cook on low 10-18 hours or high 2-4 hours

  4. 4

    When tender put through food mill to remove peel

  5. 5

    For each pint of apples add 1 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp each of cinnamon, cloves and allspice

  6. 6

    Stir and cook on low another 6-8 hours, stirring every 2 hours

  7. 7

    Remove cloves after 3 hours and allow to cook down

  8. 8

    Spoon into pint jars
